Working with a design by Tatjana von Stein of Sella Concept, we extended, reconfigured and completely renovated this split-level penthouse in East London.

The project brought together an unusually broad range of materials, finishes and fabrication processes. Stainless steel apertures sit alongside sapele wall panelling, silk-covered doors and a sinuous marble kitchen island, while bespoke elements include a deep red high-gloss shelving system that extends into a desk, a fully carpeted bed and a concealed wallpapered bar.

A former balcony was enclosed to create a permanent dining room, connected back to the kitchen through a stainless steel porthole. Throughout the apartment, each element required a different approach to making, finishing and installation, bringing a complex and highly individual interior together.
