For Four London’s Mayfair salon, bespoke dark-stained oak joinery brings a contemporary layer to the period character of the listed building.
Arches recur throughout the interior, from the shelving to the solid oak-framed mirrors, echoing the existing architecture and creating a consistent rhythm through the space. Eccentric grain patterns bring variation to the dark oak, contrasted by crisp detailing, white marble and brass.
The building’s arches provided a motif for the joinery.
The mirrors were CNC-cut with bevelled edges and carefully mitred joints, with discreet backlighting creating a frameless effect. Together, these details turn functional elements of the salon into defining features of the interior.
