Our Hatton Garden project is a top-floor apartment in a historic building right at the heart of Clerkenwell’s design district. The space is entirely open plan, with no square corners, making it a playful challenge in both layout and detailing. Our clients, passionate cooks and avid entertainers, wanted a kitchen that was intimate and cosy enough for  everyday meals and bold enough for full-scale supper clubs.

At the centre sits a large curved island, doubling as a chef’s table for up to twelve guests. The material mix is bold but balanced; Reclaimed travertine Altrock surface, handmade Moroccan tiles, brass trim, natural travertine cladding and Fenix doors, anchored by a Bora cooktop. The shape allows everyone to face the action, whether cooking or watching.

We packed the kitchen with subtle storage moves: dovetailed oak veg drawers, hidden plinth drawers, adapted corner pullouts, dowelled crockery organisers and bespoke recycling units. A niche was built for the bar and floating steel shelves were carefully shaped to reflect the sloped geometry of the walls. Every detail was designed to serve both the rhythm of daily life and the occasional cocktail dinner party gone wild.
